The Virgen del Carmen patron saint feast is celebrated on 16th July. As the Virgen del Carmen is the saint patron of mariners, fisherman and sailors, many boats are decked that day with colored pennants and go out to the sea to throw garlands and wreaths to honour and remember those who lost their lives at sea.
